How about some BBQ

Well I have some pictures of the grill and our steaks are on the barbie right now! MMMM Yum! I can smell them from in here! Murphy has this annoyed look on her face, like she just knows she's not going to get any. The funny thing is if you've seen her recently, she sure doesn't look like a starved cat!

Lance picked up two chairs and a small table for the patio as well. I think we are tapped out on space though. It looks really cool altogether, and should end up being a really nice summer night hangout which I am looking forward to!

I'm going to see how my steak is coming along, because I am hungry!!

P.S. Murphy just plays a mean kitty on T.V. she's really just a princess, as you can tell!

Christmas in March

Christmas last year my Mom, Dad, and two sisters got Lance a gift card for the grill he had been talking about since we moved into our new apartment in August. We have been so busy on weekends nothing seemed to be working out to go over to Home Depot to get his new toy.......I made the mistake of calling the grill "his new toy" yesterday and was quickly corrected that the grill was a necessity, not a toy! hahaha Well excuuuuse me, I stand corrected! =)

Lance doesn't have the gas hooked up yet but he plans on getting that done tomorrow since he has the day off. I'll have him post what the grill looks like without the cover on since he already covered it up before I was able to get out there with the camera.
Enjoy Lance's new hangout!

Appliances

Since I was 18 and I moved out of my parents house, I have been going back to do my laundry. All 3 of my apartments have also had laundry facilities on site which I would use often as well, but for $1.25 to just wash your clothes, that added up!

When we moved into our current apartment one of things we liked so much about it was that it came with washer/dryer hook-ups. At first we were going to rent a washer/dryer (stackable) until we realized just how costly that was. It would make more sense to just buy one. We had looked into that option as well, but I was just hesitant in spending that kind of money for something that may not fit in the next place we move to. Since we couldn't decide what we wanted to do, our washer/dryer closet became the storage closet.

A couple of days ago Lance and I went to the mail box and there was a sign that said someone in our apartment complex was selling their washer and dryer. We decided to go check it out and last night we became the proud owners of a stackable washer/dryer!

I am so excited I wish everybody else would get up so that I can start doing laundry! The thought of not having to load up my car with a weeks full of laundry and take it to my parents or the laundry room makes me giddy. I've never been so happy to do laundry. I'm sure that will wear off this weekend! =) I'll be back to hating laundry in no time!

I asked Tracy if her parents were going to be mad at us for buying a washer/dryer because now she can do hers here too without having to go to her parents! But parents don't worry, we still like your cooking better so you haven't gotten rid of us yet!
Here are some pictures before the washer/dryer and after!

Notice I didn't take a picture with the closet full of our stuff! Nobody needs to see that mess! Now that mess is sitting in the living room. It will probably all end up in the garage. It's time for some Spring cleaning!

Lance's Christmas present should be coming today. If it all works out I will post tonight and show you all what it is! Wow possibly 2 posts in one day!!

From Madness to Sadness!

Well, this maybe the worst tournament of my life. Of course it is, I blogged about it. I talked trash and now, I'm losing. Such is Murphy's law! Not just losing a little. Losing bad......really really bad! I should have known things were going downhill fast after I called my Dad on the first day that games were being played to ask who he had picked and he told me he had forgotten to fill out his bracket. He forgot I can't believe it. But what a blessing in disguise, because I'm losing so bad, I really didn't need Lance to have a partner in giving me a hard time. The Sweet 16 games have not even been played yet and I think I'm going to concede. It happens, not even Coach John Wooden won them all! I believe the 2008 March Madness season goes to Lance. Great job babe, I am so happy for you..... Bring on 2009!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who haven't been following the tourney, Cal State Fullerton lost in the first round, as did Arizona and Kentucky. My Dad's Kansas is still alive and doing well so we shall see how long they last. There is still a lot more action coming I'm sure!

I will try to take a picture of Lance tonight with his winning bracket and his smug smile. He's out there gloating somewhere I just know it! Oh! And the Angel's baseball season starts on Monday, March 31! We are going to the home opener on April 4 and I can not wait!

Let the MADNESS Begin!

Well friends, the brackets are out! Let my favorite time of year begin!!! Every year I look so forward to the NCAA tournament. The Cinderella stories, the number 1 rankings, the rivalries. I just love it. A few years back I was sick on the first day of the tournament (I was really sick, I wasn't just faking it! hahaha) and I was able to watch games all day long. All the while the bracket sitting on my lap highlighting my winners. I take my bracket very seriously since I do a lot of trash talking throughout the tournament. Not that I like being sick, but the first day of the tournament is sure a great day to be sick!

I'll be honest, year after year, I could not seem to beat my dad. Then Lance came into my life 4 years ago, and he too beat me every year. Last year, lady luck was on my side friends, and I beat both of them. I still have the sheets from last year so I could make sure the boys didn't try and change the story on me. I have proof! This year, I plan to kick as much butt as I did last year so watch out boys, I'm ready to make it two year in a row!!

Cal State Fullerton made the tournament this year for the second time in school history. Cal State Fullerton is where Lance works, and where I went to school so we are both so excited. I hope that they are the Cinderella story for this years tournament. Everyone at Disney calls Cal State Fullerton, Disney University since it seems like if you work at Disney you go to Cal State Fullerton so how appropriate that they may be this years Cinderella story.

I know my dad is going for Kansas, Lance is going for Arizona and I'm going for Kentucky to go all the way! And of course all 3 of us would be ecstatic for CSU Fullerton to go all the way.

Feel free to play along with us this year if you wish. I've played in many office pools where someone who knows nothing about college basketball wins the whole thing. GGRR! Click here for a link to the NCAA bracket if you would like to play along. But be forewarned, I'm a trash talker! That being said, Lance and Dad, you two are going down! =P

March Madness and Baseball Season!

Alright its almost time for College Basketball March Madness and Major League Baseball! As for basketball, Suzanne's Team, Kentucky already has a bid to the tourney but my Arizona Wildcats don't seem to have much of a chance. Lute Olson, their coach of 25 years, took a break for personal reasons and the team just couldn't hack it without him. In fact this is the worst performance they have had since Lute's first year as coach for the Cats. Lute is about 20 games short of 800 wins in Division 1 schools. We miss you Lute!!
As for Baseball, spring training is going on and the Angel's look really good! They acquired Torii Hunter from the Twins this year and he should add a big bat to the lineup not to mention bulking up an already stellar outfield. They also got Jon Garland from the Chicago White Sox for their pitching staff...2 great additions which I am sure will pay off. We have opening day tickets against the Rangers and we can't wait!!

More D.C. Stuff!!

Ok so back to the DC trip...we got to visit my friend Scott from high school and his wife Stephanie and kids who live in Virginia. We had not been to visit them at all in the whole 10 years or so they have been living there so it was nice to finally see them and see their house. We got to go to dinner with them twice and had dinner at their house one night. We played RockBand until almost 1 am one night! Oh man that game is so fun and I highly recommend it for parties or family fun! While Suzanne was in one of her meetings, I had the chance to hang out with Scott at the Air and Space Museum near Dulles airport. Suzanne and I got to do a little more touring on Saturday , the day before we left. We are so glad that the first day we went out that the weather was at least sunny because Saturday wasn't so nice. Here are a few more pics from our trip.

Oh and a special thanks goes out to Scott and Stephanie for letting us steal their wedding date, April 25th. They got married 10 years ago this April...

This is the Iwo Jima Memorial

Us in front of the Capital Building...yep its cold!

Us in at the World War II Memorial

Who will be sitting in the White House next year?

April 25, 2009

It's official it's official! We have our date, April 25, 2009. Mark your calendars, save the date, Lance and I are throwing a big ol party on that day. hahaha Lance and I are going to exchange our vows in front of all of our friends and family and I just cannot wait. Now that we have tied down the date and the reception hall, I can start concentrating on all the other details. We picked the Holiday Inn in Laguna Hills as our reception site and possibly our ceremony site too. The ceremony site has not been set in stone just yet, because we are still looking for other possible sites. Here is a link to the hotel http://www.herecomestheguide.com/location/detail/crystal-ballroom-laguna-hills .

It's not the best site, but I do have an email into the events coordinator for some photos. If she is able to send those to me I will post them since they are much better than the link. Anyone is welcome to stay there for your whole visit, or just the night of the wedding. We are going to set aside a block of rooms so that we can get a discounted rate. Just let myself or Lance know if you are interested in a room and we will get one saved for you.

Here is a cute little picture of myself and Lance. I think this picture was taken last May when we were in Colorado visiting my family.

Verizon

Well, I have some good news........Lance is now Verizon!!!!! Can you hear me now??? I said Verizon!!! hahahaha So, for all those family members that are already on Verizon, you can finally talk to him with free minutes. It only took me 4 years to convince him, but I finally did it. We went today to go and upgrade my phone and get him a new phone. We both decided on the Blackberry Pearl. I got pink, and he got silver.

This phone does everything except for clean your house! It is really neat, but I can not quite figure out how to work it yet. I normally can figure these things out without having to read the owners manual, but I may have to just suck it up and look it up. This blackberry is so high tech though, that the owners manual is on a CD! hahahaha

So, feel free to call Lance all day long now! Or text him too. Because if you are on Verizon it is FREE!!!!!!! We are all happy you have come to the dark side Lance!! =)

And now I have more good news, Lance and I put the deposit down on our reception venue this afternoon. Both of us are so relieved to have this part of the planning done. Now, we can start focusing on everything else. More details and links to follow. Also to follow, more pics from our DC trip!
